The 2018 Jaguar F-Pace is Almost Here

When the 2017 F-Pace debuted last spring, it launched Jaguar into an all-time monthly sales record. In fact, the F-Pace became the brand’s top seller in its first year and increased Jaguars sales by a reported 116 percent.

Instead of sitting back to enjoy the ride, though, Jaguar has taken their highly successful crossover and outfitted it with a plethora of updates for 2018. The all-new F-Pace will feature a brand new engine, fresh tech, new colors and updated safety features.

What’s New in the 2018 Jaguar F-Pace

Last year, F-Pace customers had the choice between either a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel or 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine. And while it still delivered exceptional results, Jaguar’s decided to upgrade for 2018. This year, the F-Pace is making the switch to gasoline with an all-new, redesigned 2.0-liter Ingenium engine.

There’s no denying Jaguar’s new powerhouse engine is stronger; producing 247 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, it gives owners 7 hp and 18 lb-ft more power than it’s predecessor.

The new 2.0-liter engine also showcases Jaguar’s first-ever integrated intake/exhaust manifold and a twin-scroll turbo. New buyers can expect to see the same transmission and drive type, though; an eight-speed automatic comes standard as does all-wheel drive.

The F-Pace also sees some aesthetic changes for 2018. In addition to new 15-spoke 22-inch alloy wheels, buyers will enjoy new color combinations for a total of 12 and a new Light Oyster/Ebony interior trim option.

Jaguar is also introducing a new top trim level for the F-Pace: Meet the Portfolio. Starting at almost $20,000 more than the Premium base model, there is no denying the obvious elegance of the Portfolio. Extra-pleated Windsor leather seats and winged headrests are exclusive to the trim.

New Tech Updates and Features

In the 2018 F-Pace, two new driver-assisted technologies are available — Forward Traffic Detection and Forward Vehicle Guidance. Forward Traffic Detention uses a camera and sensor based system to alert drivers to oncoming traffic. Forward Vehicle Guidance helps guide your F-Pace into tight parking spots.

Jaguar’s 10-inch inControl Touch Pro infotainment system now allows drivers to follow navigational directions while the passenger watches via the TV. The F-Pace’s standard tech features remain the same, including Bluetooth phone connectivity, integrated text-to-voice capability, and navigation.

Another feature exclusive to the 2018 F-Pace is Jaguar’s new in-car cashless payment system for gas. If you collect Shell points or just prefer to fuel up at Shell, you can now download the app in your vehicle and pay for gas electronically. Just select the desired amount and use your PayPal or Apple Pay account from the comfort of the driver’s seat.

Why Buy a 2018 Jaguar F-Pace?

The 2018 Jaguar F-Pace is set to break new records when it hits showrooms in May. With a brand new engine and standard AWD capability, Jaguar’s created a five-seater vehicle that doesn’t feel like a five-seater vehicle.

The F-Pace’s interior is both refined and elegant, regardless of which trim you choose — although it IS hard to deny how good you feel just sitting inside the Limited Edition Portfolio. If you’re a regular Shell frequenter, the new fuel-up app might be enticing, too.

At the end of the day, though, it’s not the “fun” apps that should get you excited about the all-new F-Pace. It’s the crossover’s dynamic performance, luxurious interior and overall capability that should get your gears going. See what we did there?
